IPL 2025 Mega Auction: The Ultimate Bidding War Begins in Jeddah!

The IPL Mega Auction 2025 venue shifted from Riyadh, the Capital of Saudi Arabia, to the Port city of Saudi Arabia, Jeddah, in the eleventh hour. The IPL mega auction is not a regular auction that happens every year; rather, it is an auction that happens every 3 years, and many players participate in the auction. This much-anticipated mega auction is scheduled for November 24 and 25.
Reports indicate that the IPL Mega auction will be held at The Abadi Al-Johar Arena. Franchise owners and officials will be put up at the Hotel Shangri-La.
This season 1,574 players have been named for the IPL mega auction
names the list of 1,165 Indian and 409 overseas. The list comprises 320 capped
players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from the Associate
Nations, an official IPL release confirmed. Amongst these players,
whereas each team can make a squad of up to 25 players, only 204 players will enter any of the 10 franchises after the retentions only 204 spots are left.
Before the Retention window closed on 31st October, in total 46 players were retained by 10 participating IPL teams, thereby investing a cumulative of ₹ 558.5 crore:
Each team was allowed to retain a maximum of six players from
squad of 25 players, with a maximum of 5 capped internationals and
2 uncapped Indian players.

Each team was given a purse of ₹ 120 crore to prepare their squad
but following the retention, Punjab Kings have the biggest purse
remaining (₹110.5 crores) to spend at the IPL Mega auction, on the other
hand Rajasthan Royals are set to enter the IPL Mega auction with the smallest purse, ₹41 crore, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders with a purse of ₹51 crore.
The IPL Mega Auction is around the corner, and some releases that shocked IPL fans include big names such as KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, etc. These releases will be at the center of the IPL Mega Auction; most franchises will bid for these players as they bring a mix.
Of batting prowess, leadership qualities, and sharp fielding, these players are probably going to be commanding some of the highest prices.
